Sculptural ceramics & ancestral firing practices
Renné is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice centers on ceramics and is rooted in her cultural heritage. Drawing from pre-Hispanic traditions, her work engages ritual, symbolism, and collective forms of making. Her earlier sculptural practice explored emotional landscapes, the spiritual, and the experience of femininity and faith. Her recent work shifts toward process and material transformation, moving away from the finished object to foreground gesture, shared time, and relational dynamics. Working with experimental and ancestral firing techniques, she treats fire as an active collaborator, embracing unpredictability as part of the work. Through installations, participatory works, and ceramic objects, she approaches ritual as a living, contemporary practice.
